Using mobile data in Armenia: local tips
- 112 is the emergency number. Since February 2026, 112 has been Armenia’s single emergency number; the old numbers 911, 102 and 101 redirect to it.
- Get a Yerevan transport card. Contactless payment on Yerevan transport only accepts cards from banks in Armenia. Visitors can buy a reusable transport card and add tickets at transport.yerevan.am or a Telcell terminal.
- Use a taxi app. UK travel advice recommends the GG taxi app, and Armenia’s tourism site suggests having GG or Yandex Taxi ready before you arrive.
- Save hiking maps offline. The free HIKEArmenia app, recommended by the national tourism site, stores trail maps for offline use — download them before heading into the mountains.
- Free airport Wi-Fi. At Zvartnots Airport, connect to the free “Zvartnots Public” network, available throughout the airport.
