eSIM-Compatible Devices

Check which phones, tablets, and laptops support eSIM—or verify yours in under 10 seconds using *#06#.

Updated list: 07/2026

Mainland China devices No eSIM across all brands—including flagship iPhones and Samsung models (the sole exception is the iPhone Air). Note especially that parallel-imported devices typically lack eSIM support.
Hong Kong / Macau / Taiwan devices Samsung, Pixel, and Xiaomi models sold in these regions usually lack eSIM. Hong Kong iPhones only support eSIM on select models (XS, SE, 12/13 mini, and all models from iPhone 14 onward).
Carrier-locked device Even if hardware supports eSIM, a carrier-locked device won’t accept other eSIMs. Confirm your device is unlocked before purchasing an eSIM plan.

Verify your device yourself—more accurate than any list

The same model may or may not include eSIM, depending on the market it was built for. Only your actual device can give you a definitive answer.

Fastest method—works on all devices Open your phone’s dialer and enter *#06#. If an EID appears (a 32-digit number starting with 89), your device has eSIM hardware.
iPhone Settings → General → About → look for ‘EID’ or ‘SIM Available’; or Settings → Cellular Data → ‘Add eSIM’ button.
Android Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM card manager → ‘Add eSIM’. Pixel: Settings → Network & internet → SIM. Xiaomi: Settings → SIM & mobile networks.
Is your device unlocked? iPhone: Settings → General → About → ‘Carrier Lock’ must show ‘No SIM restrictions’. Android: try inserting a SIM from another carrier, or ask the seller. Carrier-locked devices cannot install eSIMs—even if eSIM hardware is present.

FAQ

Open the phone keypad and dial *#06#. If an EID number appears (a 32-digit string beginning with '89'), your device has eSIM hardware. This method is more reliable than any list, as hardware configurations may differ across regional variants of the same model.

Yes. All iPhones from the XS, XS Max, and XR (2018) onward support eSIM — except for models sold in mainland China (which use two physical SIMs) and certain Hong Kong/Macau variants.

No. Even if the device has eSIM hardware, carrier-locked phones cannot install eSIMs from other providers. On iPhone, check Settings → General → About: the "Carrier Lock" field must read "No SIM restrictions".

Mainland China has not rolled out eSIM support for smartphones, so devices manufactured for this market omit eSIM hardware — including iPhones and Samsung flagships. The sole current exception is the iPhone Air.

The S20 FE does not. The S23 FE, S24 FE, and S25 FE do (except for models sold in China/Hong Kong). The FE series is a classic example of "same name, different hardware" — always verify compatibility using *#06# before purchasing a plan.

iPhones can store 8 or more eSIMs (with up to 2 active simultaneously); most Android devices store 5–7. You can keep your old travel eSIM installed and simply activate it when needed.

No. LTE versions of Apple Watch and Galaxy Watch use carrier-specific eSIMs registered through domestic carriers; travel data eSIMs cannot be installed on watches. Instead, install the eSIM on your phone and share its hotspot if needed.

You can use another eSIM-compatible device as a mobile hotspot for your group — all Zyesims plans allow hotspot sharing — or purchase a physical SIM at your destination.
