- 5G is brand new. Vodafone switched on 5G in Türkiye in April 2026 across all 81 provinces; you need a 5G phone, and much of the country still runs on 4G.
- Coverage varies in the mountains. Vodafone notes coverage depends on terrain, congestion and even building location — plan for weaker signal in mountainous or remote areas.
- Get an Istanbulkart. Buy and top up a physical Istanbulkart at Biletmatik machines in stations — it works without any app registration.
- Live Istanbul bus times. İETT’s official “Otobüsüm Nerede” app shows live bus locations and arrival estimates, plus nearby Istanbulkart top-up points.
- Taxis by app. BiTaksi books licensed taxis and accepts foreign Visa, Mastercard and Amex cards in the app; registration needs a mobile number, so sign up with your home number.
