Using mobile data in Denmark: local tips

  • One ticket app for Denmark. Rejsebillet sells bus, train, metro and light-rail tickets for the whole country. Sign-up is verified with an SMS code, so use a number that can receive texts.
  • Plan trips with Rejseplanen. The Rejseplanen app plans journeys on all public transport in Denmark and flags delays or cancellations, though not for every operator. It works in English.
  • MobilePay is for residents. MobilePay needs MitID, a Danish CPR number, a Danish or Greenlandic phone number and a Danish bank account, so visitors should pay by card or phone wallet instead.
  • Carry a physical card too. Denmark’s central bank advises having more than one way to pay — ideally two physical cards of different brands with known PINs — in case phone or card payments go down.
  • 112 — and call before A&E. Dial 112 in an emergency. For less urgent medical problems, note that in some regions you must phone before going to an accident and emergency department.

Checked against official sources in September 2026. Services and coverage change — check the app or operator before you travel.
