Greece Daily eSIM — Never Run Out of Data

Daily-renewing data plan for your Greece trip: choose 500MB–10GB high-speed data per day and the exact number of days you need (1–30 days). Once your daily high-speed allowance is exhausted, speeds are reduced — maps and messaging still work, unlike fixed-data plans where connectivity drops entirely.

  • Speed after the daily cap depends on the plan: 512 Kbps on 500MB, 1GB, 3GB, 5GB, 10GB, but only 500 Kbps on 2GB. A bigger plan doesn’t mean faster speeds once the cap is reached.

Using mobile data in Greece: local tips

  • 5G on 70 islands, not all. Vodafone reported 5G for 94% of Greece’s population in 2025, including 70 islands. Smaller or remote islands may still be 4G only.
  • Tap to ride in Athens. Athens buses, metro, tram and suburban rail accept contactless Visa and Mastercard cards and phone wallets at the validators — use the same card or phone every time.
  • Acropolis tickets are timed. Buy Acropolis tickets from the official Hellenic Heritage store; entry is timed and you can show the ticket on your phone. Save it offline in case signal is weak at the gate.
  • Check in for ferries on land. Blue Star Ferries and Hellenic Seaways open web check-in 48 hours before departure. Do it while you have signal and save the e-ticket to your phone wallet.
  • At sea, watch for ship networks. Offshore, your phone may join a ship’s satellite network, where normal roaming price caps don’t apply. Use airplane mode and the ship’s Wi-Fi instead.
  • 112 is free to call. Emergency calls to 112 are free and work from any network, even without a SIM, so a data-only eSIM doesn’t block them. Operators answer in Greek, English and French.

FAQ

Depends on your chosen plan: 500MB/day → 512 Kbps; 1GB/day → 512 Kbps; 2GB/day → 500 Kbps; 3GB/day → 512 Kbps; 5GB/day → 512 Kbps; 10GB/day → 512 Kbps. After that, you stay connected until your daily high-speed allowance resets.

eSIM plans for Greece connect via Wind, Vodafone. Your device automatically selects the strongest local network; 5G is available where supported by the carrier, otherwise 4G/LTE applies. The specific carrier for each plan is listed on its detail page.

Daily plans provide a fixed amount of high-speed data refreshed each day (e.g., 1 GB/day). Once the daily high-speed limit is reached, speeds are reduced but connectivity remains — the full high-speed allowance resets the next day. Fixed-data plans end completely once exhausted; additional data must be purchased.

Essentially similar to "unlimited" plans on the market: you always stay connected, but speeds are reduced after exceeding your daily high-speed data allowance. We clearly state the reduced speed for each plan so you can choose the right one—no vague marketing.

Select the exact number of days for your trip — from 1 to 30 days. Pricing is per day: travel for 5 days, pay for 5 days — no need to overbuy a 30-day package.

1 GB/day is enough for maps, messaging, and social media. 2–3 GB/day if you frequently watch videos or make video calls. 5–10 GB/day for livestreaming or sharing a hotspot with your group.

For most plans, validity starts from the first time your eSIM connects to a network at your destination—you can safely install it at home before flying. Exact details for each plan are clearly stated on its product page.
