Finland Daily eSIM — Never Run Out of Data

Daily-renewing data plan for your Finland trip: choose 500MB–10GB high-speed data per day and the exact number of days you need (1–30 days). Once your daily high-speed allowance is exhausted, speeds are reduced — maps and messaging still work, unlike fixed-data plans where connectivity drops entirely.

  • Speed after the daily cap depends on the plan: 1 Mbps on 3GB, but only 500 Kbps on 2GB. A bigger plan doesn’t mean faster speeds once the cap is reached.

Using mobile data in Finland: local tips

  • HSL app for Helsinki. The HSL app sells single, day and season tickets for Helsinki-region public transport, and its journey planner tells you which ticket your trip needs. It is available in English.
  • Train Wi-Fi has gaps. VR notes that long-distance trains pass through areas with no mobile base stations, where on-board Wi-Fi can’t work properly. Download what you need before a long rural journey.
  • 112 Suomi sends your location. When you call emergency services through the free 112 Suomi app, your location is sent to the Emergency Response Centre automatically. The app works in English.
  • Weak signal in the wilderness. Finland’s phone coverage is excellent overall, but Metsähallitus warns the signal can be weak in remote areas — Urho Kekkonen National Park in Lapland has many weak spots.
  • Keep your phone warm. Batteries drain much faster in extreme cold, so carry your phone inside your clothing on winter trips in Lapland.
  • Unlimited airport Wi-Fi. Helsinki Airport offers unlimited free Wi-Fi to all passengers, with no login needed.

FAQ

Depends on your chosen plan: 500MB/day → 512 Kbps; 1GB/day → 512 Kbps; 2GB/day → 500 Kbps; 3GB/day → 1 Mbps; 5GB/day → 512 Kbps; 10GB/day → 512 Kbps. After that, you stay connected until your daily high-speed allowance resets.

eSIM plans for Finland connect via DNA. Your device automatically selects the strongest local network; 5G is available where supported by the carrier, otherwise 4G/LTE applies. The specific carrier for each plan is listed on its detail page.

Daily plans provide a fixed amount of high-speed data refreshed each day (e.g., 1 GB/day). Once the daily high-speed limit is reached, speeds are reduced but connectivity remains — the full high-speed allowance resets the next day. Fixed-data plans end completely once exhausted; additional data must be purchased.

Essentially similar to "unlimited" plans on the market: you always stay connected, but speeds are reduced after exceeding your daily high-speed data allowance. We clearly state the reduced speed for each plan so you can choose the right one—no vague marketing.

Select the exact number of days for your trip — from 1 to 30 days. Pricing is per day: travel for 5 days, pay for 5 days — no need to overbuy a 30-day package.

1 GB/day is enough for maps, messaging, and social media. 2–3 GB/day if you frequently watch videos or make video calls. 5–10 GB/day for livestreaming or sharing a hotspot with your group.

For most plans, validity starts from the first time your eSIM connects to a network at your destination—you can safely install it at home before flying. Exact details for each plan are clearly stated on its product page.
