Slovenia Daily eSIM — Never Run Out of Data

Daily-renewing data plan for your Slovenia trip: choose 500MB–10GB high-speed data per day and the exact number of days you need (1–30 days). Once your daily high-speed allowance is exhausted, speeds are reduced — maps and messaging still work, unlike fixed-data plans where connectivity drops entirely.

Using mobile data in Slovenia: local tips

  • 112 works near the borders. In the Julian Alps your phone may pick up Austrian or Italian networks, but 112 still gets through, and mountain rescue is dispatched through it.
  • Download maPZS before hiking. Slovenia’s tourism board recommends the Alpine Association’s maPZS app, which shows trail information even without mobile signal once downloaded.
  • No signal? Look for the GRS sign. If you can’t call from the mountains, report an accident at the nearest notification point — mountain huts, high farms or valley police stations marked with the GRS symbol.
  • Ljubljana buses: Urbana or a bank card. LPP city buses take the Urbana card or app, or a contactless Visa or Mastercard — but only Urbana gives free transfers within 90 minutes.
  • Buy the e-vignette from DARS. Buy Slovenia’s motorway e-vignette on the official DARS website or from an authorised seller — unofficial sites may add fees.
  • Train tickets in Grem z vlakom. Domestic train tickets can be bought on the Slovenske železnice website or in its Grem z vlakom app.

FAQ

Depends on your chosen plan: 500MB/day → 512 Kbps; 1GB/day → 512 Kbps; 2GB/day → 500 Kbps; 3GB/day → 1 Mbps; 5GB/day → 512 Kbps; 10GB/day → 512 Kbps. After that, you stay connected until your daily high-speed allowance resets.

eSIM plans for Slovenia connect via Telemach, Mobitel. Your device automatically selects the strongest local network; 5G is available where supported by the carrier, otherwise 4G/LTE applies. The specific carrier for each plan is listed on its detail page.

Daily plans provide a fixed amount of high-speed data refreshed each day (e.g., 1 GB/day). Once the daily high-speed limit is reached, speeds are reduced but connectivity remains — the full high-speed allowance resets the next day. Fixed-data plans end completely once exhausted; additional data must be purchased.

Essentially similar to "unlimited" plans on the market: you always stay connected, but speeds are reduced after exceeding your daily high-speed data allowance. We clearly state the reduced speed for each plan so you can choose the right one—no vague marketing.

Select the exact number of days for your trip — from 1 to 30 days. Pricing is per day: travel for 5 days, pay for 5 days — no need to overbuy a 30-day package.

1 GB/day is enough for maps, messaging, and social media. 2–3 GB/day if you frequently watch videos or make video calls. 5–10 GB/day for livestreaming or sharing a hotspot with your group.

For most plans, validity starts from the first time your eSIM connects to a network at your destination—you can safely install it at home before flying. Exact details for each plan are clearly stated on its product page.
