Romania Daily eSIM — Never Run Out of Data

Daily-renewing data plan for your Romania trip: choose 500MB–10GB high-speed data per day and the exact number of days you need (1–30 days). Once your daily high-speed allowance is exhausted, speeds are reduced — maps and messaging still work, unlike fixed-data plans where connectivity drops entirely.

Using mobile data in Romania: local tips

  • Check the signal map. The regulator ANCOM’s aisemnal.ro map shows measured 2G–4G signal by operator, including areas with weak or no coverage — worth checking before trips into the mountains or the Danube Delta.
  • Salvamont app before Carpathian hikes. Romania’s mountain rescue app has an SOS section that sends your route, coordinates and altitude to the Salvamont dispatch centre. Set it up before you lose signal.
  • Train tickets on your phone. The CFR Călători app sends a ticket ID in the app and by email to show the conductor — no printout needed — and tickets can be added to Apple Wallet.
  • Tap to ride in Bucharest. STB buses, trams and trolleybuses showing Visa and Mastercard logos accept contactless cards issued anywhere. SMS tickets only work on Romanian networks, so use a card or the 24Pay app.
  • Danube Delta permit online. Visitors to the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve need a tourist access permit, sold online by the reserve authority at permise.ddbra.ro.
  • 112 and phone alerts. Dial 112 for ambulance, fire or police. In extreme weather or other emergencies, the government may send alerts to your phone in Romanian and English.

Checked against official sources in September 2026. Services and coverage change — check the app or operator before you travel.

FAQ

Depends on your chosen plan: 500MB/day → 512 Kbps; 1GB/day → 512 Kbps; 2GB/day → 500 Kbps; 3GB/day → 1 Mbps; 5GB/day → 512 Kbps; 10GB/day → 512 Kbps. After that, you stay connected until your daily high-speed allowance resets.

eSIM plans for Romania connect via Vodafone, Orange. Your device automatically selects the strongest local network; 5G is available where supported by the carrier, otherwise 4G/LTE applies. The specific carrier for each plan is listed on its detail page.

Daily plans provide a fixed amount of high-speed data refreshed each day (e.g., 1 GB/day). Once the daily high-speed limit is reached, speeds are reduced but connectivity remains — the full high-speed allowance resets the next day. Fixed-data plans end completely once exhausted; additional data must be purchased.

Essentially similar to "unlimited" plans on the market: you always stay connected, but speeds are reduced after exceeding your daily high-speed data allowance. We clearly state the reduced speed for each plan so you can choose the right one—no vague marketing.

Select the exact number of days for your trip — from 1 to 30 days. Pricing is per day: travel for 5 days, pay for 5 days — no need to overbuy a 30-day package.

1 GB/day is enough for maps, messaging, and social media. 2–3 GB/day if you frequently watch videos or make video calls. 5–10 GB/day for livestreaming or sharing a hotspot with your group.

For most plans, validity starts from the first time your eSIM connects to a network at your destination—you can safely install it at home before flying. Exact details for each plan are clearly stated on its product page.
