Hungary Daily eSIM — Never Run Out of Data

Daily-renewing data plan for your Hungary trip: choose 500MB–10GB high-speed data per day and the exact number of days you need (1–30 days). Once your daily high-speed allowance is exhausted, speeds are reduced — maps and messaging still work, unlike fixed-data plans where connectivity drops entirely.

Using mobile data in Hungary: local tips

  • 112 plus direct lines. Dial 112 for any emergency. Hungary also keeps direct numbers: 104 for ambulance, 105 for fire and 107 for police.
  • Életmentő sends your location. The National Ambulance Service’s free Életmentő app calls for help and shares your location. It works in Hungary, Austria, Czechia and the Slovak mountains.
  • E-vignette before the motorway. Hungarian motorways need an e-vignette linked to your number plate, bought before you join the toll section — check the plate and country code carefully.
  • Tap to ride the Budapest metro. With Pay&GO, tap a bank card or phone on the terminal beside the metro validators to buy and validate a single ticket — no app or registration. It also works on the 100E airport bus.
  • BudapestGO for tickets and routes. BKK’s free BudapestGO app plans routes in real time, shows service changes and sells single tickets and travelcards.
  • Train tickets work offline. The Hungarian State Railways app needs internet to buy tickets, but you can show them to the conductor offline — useful on rural lines.

Checked against official sources in September 2026. Services and coverage change — check the app or operator before you travel.

FAQ

Depends on your chosen plan: 500MB/day → 512 Kbps; 1GB/day → 512 Kbps; 2GB/day → 500 Kbps; 3GB/day → 1 Mbps; 5GB/day → 512 Kbps; 10GB/day → 512 Kbps. After that, you stay connected until your daily high-speed allowance resets.

eSIM plans for Hungary connect via Telenor Hungary, Vodafone. Your device automatically selects the strongest local network; 5G is available where supported by the carrier, otherwise 4G/LTE applies. The specific carrier for each plan is listed on its detail page.

Daily plans provide a fixed amount of high-speed data refreshed each day (e.g., 1 GB/day). Once the daily high-speed limit is reached, speeds are reduced but connectivity remains — the full high-speed allowance resets the next day. Fixed-data plans end completely once exhausted; additional data must be purchased.

Essentially similar to "unlimited" plans on the market: you always stay connected, but speeds are reduced after exceeding your daily high-speed data allowance. We clearly state the reduced speed for each plan so you can choose the right one—no vague marketing.

Select the exact number of days for your trip — from 1 to 30 days. Pricing is per day: travel for 5 days, pay for 5 days — no need to overbuy a 30-day package.

1 GB/day is enough for maps, messaging, and social media. 2–3 GB/day if you frequently watch videos or make video calls. 5–10 GB/day for livestreaming or sharing a hotspot with your group.

For most plans, validity starts from the first time your eSIM connects to a network at your destination—you can safely install it at home before flying. Exact details for each plan are clearly stated on its product page.
