Using mobile data in Aruba: local tips

  • Complete the ED card before you fly. Every passenger, including infants, must submit the online Embarkation/Disembarkation card on the official site edcardaruba.aw within seven days before travel. Keep the confirmation on your phone for check-in.
  • Police is 100, not 911. In Aruba, 911 reaches ambulance and fire, while the police are on 100 and the coastguard on 913.
  • Plan in myAruba, view offline. Build your itinerary in the tourism board’s myAruba app while connected; once it’s set, you can view the plan around the island without data or Wi-Fi.
  • Apply for a bus smartcard early. Tourists can get an Arubus smartcard, but online applications take about five business days to approve, so apply before arrival or visit the main office in person.
  • Free Wi-Fi on arrival. Aruba’s airport offers free Wi-Fi – enable Wi-Fi on your device and follow the short connection steps.
