Mexico Daily eSIM: Never Run Out of Data

Daily-renewing data plan for your Mexico trip: choose 500MB–10GB high-speed data per day and the exact number of days you need (1–30 days). Once your daily high-speed allowance is exhausted, speeds are reduced: maps and messaging still work, unlike fixed-data plans where connectivity drops entirely.

Using mobile data in Mexico: local tips

  • 5G reaches under half the population. Telcel and AT&T each cover roughly 45% of Mexico’s population with 5G and over 90% with 4G. Figures count people, so sparsely populated areas are far less covered.
  • Slow data in rural Yucatán. Many rural Yucatán villages have signal on paper but speeds too low for video calls: load what you need in Mérida or the resort towns.
  • Patchy coverage in Copper Canyon. Phone signal and Wi-Fi are intermittent across the Copper Canyon and on the Chepe train: download tickets, hotel details and offline maps first.
  • Free city Wi-Fi in CDMX. Mexico City’s free “CDMX-Internet para Todos” Wi-Fi has tens of thousands of points, including Metrobús stations, with no sign-up, but only about 3–5 Mbps per user.
  • Tap to ride the CDMX Metro. The Mexico City Metro accepts contactless bank cards, phones and smartwatches at every station’s gates.

FAQ

Depends on your chosen plan: 500MB/day → 512 Kbps; 1GB/day → 512 Kbps; 2GB/day → 512 Kbps; 3GB/day → 1 Mbps; 10GB/day → 384 Kbps. After that, you stay connected until your daily high-speed allowance resets.

eSIM plans for Mexico connect via Telcel, AT&T. Your device automatically selects the strongest local network; 5G is available where supported by the carrier, otherwise 4G/LTE applies. The specific carrier for each plan is listed on its detail page.

Daily plans provide a fixed amount of high-speed data refreshed each day (e.g., 1 GB/day). Once the daily high-speed limit is reached, speeds are reduced but connectivity remains. The full high-speed allowance resets the next day. Fixed-data plans end completely once exhausted; additional data must be purchased.

Essentially similar to "unlimited" plans on the market: you always stay connected, but speeds are reduced after exceeding your daily high-speed data allowance. We clearly state the reduced speed for each plan so you can choose the right one. No vague marketing.

Select the exact number of days for your trip, from 1 to 30 days. Pricing is per day: travel for 5 days, pay for 5 days. No need to overbuy a 30-day package.

1 GB/day is enough for maps, messaging, and social media. 2–3 GB/day if you frequently watch videos or make video calls. 5–10 GB/day for livestreaming or sharing a hotspot with your group.

For most plans, validity starts from the first time your eSIM connects to a network at your destination. You can safely install it at home before flying. Exact details for each plan are clearly stated on its product page.
