China Daily eSIM: Never Run Out of Data

Daily-renewing data plan for your China trip: choose 500MB–10GB high-speed data per day and the exact number of days you need (1–30 days). Once your daily high-speed allowance is exhausted, speeds are reduced: maps and messaging still work, unlike fixed-data plans where connectivity drops entirely.

Using mobile data in China: local tips

  • Set up Alipay or WeChat Pay first. Both let visitors link an international Visa or Mastercard and pay by QR code without a Chinese bank account: install and set them up before you fly.
  • Maps that work. Apple Maps in mainland China runs on Amap data, and the AMap Global app adds English bus, metro and taxi information.
  • Ride-hailing in English. DiDi’s app has an English interface, accepts international bank cards and translates chat with drivers between English and Chinese.
  • Train tickets need verification. Book trains on China Railway’s official 12306 platform in English. Your passport must pass real-name verification, online or at a station, before you can buy.
  • Blocked services. Google, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube are blocked on mainland Chinese networks. Whether they work on a travel eSIM depends on how the plan routes data: contact us before buying if you rely on them.
  • 5G reaches towns across China. China reports almost 5 million 5G base stations, with 5G in every town and along major rail and highway corridors. Coverage is much sparser in remote regions such as Tibet: download offline maps.

Checked against official sources in September 2026. Services and coverage change: check the app or operator before you travel.

FAQ

Depends on your chosen plan: 500MB/day → 512 Kbps; 1GB/day → 384 Kbps; 2GB/day → 384 Kbps; 3GB/day → 1 Mbps; 5GB/day → 384 Kbps; 10GB/day → 384 Kbps. After that, you stay connected until your daily high-speed allowance resets.

eSIM plans for China connect via China Unicom, China Telecom, China Mobile. Your device automatically selects the strongest local network; 5G is available where supported by the carrier, otherwise 4G/LTE applies. The specific carrier for each plan is listed on its detail page.

Daily plans provide a fixed amount of high-speed data refreshed each day (e.g., 1 GB/day). Once the daily high-speed limit is reached, speeds are reduced but connectivity remains. The full high-speed allowance resets the next day. Fixed-data plans end completely once exhausted; additional data must be purchased.

Essentially similar to "unlimited" plans on the market: you always stay connected, but speeds are reduced after exceeding your daily high-speed data allowance. We clearly state the reduced speed for each plan so you can choose the right one. No vague marketing.

Select the exact number of days for your trip, from 1 to 30 days. Pricing is per day: travel for 5 days, pay for 5 days. No need to overbuy a 30-day package.

1 GB/day is enough for maps, messaging, and social media. 2–3 GB/day if you frequently watch videos or make video calls. 5–10 GB/day for livestreaming or sharing a hotspot with your group.

For most plans, validity starts from the first time your eSIM connects to a network at your destination. You can safely install it at home before flying. Exact details for each plan are clearly stated on its product page.
